IDS Login Help

The User ID is automatically displayed in ALL CAPS. Do not turn on caps lock as that will cause problems when entering the password.

You must log into the system at least every 60 days, or your account will be deactivated. If it has been less than 12 months, you may call IDS Support to have it reactivated. If it has been 12 months or more since you have logged in, you must submit an IDS Online User Access Form to have your account reactivated. Call the IDS Support Helpdesk at (800) 553-5911 or (770) 214-2571 or e-mail IDSsupport@smimail.net to request a form.

The password expires every 90 days. You will be prompted to change it as needed.

Error Messages:

“Logon Error: Could not find the specified userid in database. Please contact IDS support” You have entered an incorrect User ID.

“Logon Error: Account Deactivated. Please contact IDS support.” You have not logged into the system for more than 60 days.

“Logon Error: Authentication failed. Please contact IDS Support for assistance.” You have entered the wrong password.

Password hints:

Passwords must be at least 8 characters long. If you are attempting to enter a temporary password from the Forgot Password function but it only appears to have 7 characters, check to see if there is a period at the end of the password. That period must be entered as a part of the password.

All temporary passwords will contain 2 capital letters, 2 lower-case letters, 2 numbers and 2 special characters – which will only be a period (.), dash (-) or an underscore (_). If you don’t see that combination, review it very carefully, as you are likely misreading one of the characters.

The underscore (_) is keyed by pressing Shift and the Dash (to the right of the zero).
